RIT Electronic Music Dance Club

Check out the RIT EDM Club at this year’s All Clubs Fair during Orientation Week!

The Table will be showcasing the 3 main formats of DJ’ing in the EDM world which are:

- Vinyl (2 Turntables, mixer)

- CDJ’s & Timecoding (Using a laptop in conjunction with CD – DJ decks and a mixer)

- Ableton Live (Using loop based software for live editing and music production for performance via MIDI programmable hardware)

Guest DJ’s will be from the local Rochester EDM scene and are very experienced in what they do. They will DJ’ing on their format and conversing with and potentially teaching visitors about the various aspects of electronic music and DJ’ing, and more.

Confirmed! RIT Glow in the Dark Dance Party 2008! With RIT EDM Club as a co-sponsor!

It’s back!! The 3rd Glow in the Dark Dance Party @ RIT! Only this time around, the RIT EDM Club is co-sponsoring the show with RIT’s College Activities Board!

Information about the event:

RIT’s College Activities Board has decided to put on another “Glow in the Dark Dance Party,” which is a live music event at RIT that supports electronic dance music and the EDM DJ culture. This year, look out for 5 POUNDING 1-hour sets from 5 RIT EDM Club DJs, as the RIT EDM Club is co-sponsoring the show.

Quick Facts:

Date of the show: Friday November 7th, 2008
Timeframe: 9 PM – 2 AM
Doors at 8:30 PM
Venue: Student Alumni Union Cafeteria
Charge at the door: $2

Sound, stage, and lighting will be generously provided by RIT ‘s Tech Crew.

Make sure you pick up some FREE glow sticks and highlighters to enhance your dancing experience!

The RIT EDM Club will also be selling vintage “Glow in the Dark Dance Party 2008″ T-Shirts at the event, so be sure to purchase one!

Other items to be available during the event yet to be confirmed…rumor has it that there will be a Red Bull sponsorship…
